Celebrating Black History Month across the country

Black History Month was celebrated with such great commitment and enthusiasm throughout February at many Transdev operations across the country.

Some of our sites, like Nassau, focused on recognizing some of their local African America influencers, while others took the opportunity to incorporate a personal element into their Black History Month events. As an example, David Bonner, our General Manager at CARTA, celebrated notable African American trailblazers like Jackie Robinson, Shirly Chisholm and Hank Aaron in his daily morning emails. And, Mary McClain, our San Francisco Paratransit General Manager, offered her employees a chance to write about an African American who had influenced their lives. The statements, which came from all levels of team, were featured on the site’s focus board and highlighted a variety of people including Martin Luther King, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, several authors, relatives, high school teachers, and even one of their very own Road Supervisor/Trainers.

Thanks to the great participation, we were able to raise awareness during Black History month and make the month of recognition a success.
