Transdev Selected to Operate and Maintain Monterey-Salinas Transit Services Across Monterey County
Transdev is pleased to announce its new partnership with Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST), which will begin July 1, 2025, to operate and maintain a portion of MST’s fixed-route and all paratransit services across Monterey County with a five-year base contract.
MST’s system spans a 163-square-mile service area and operates a fleet of 131 vehicles, providing essential access to jobs, education, healthcare, and more. This contract represents a significant milestone in Transdev’s mission to deliver safe, reliable, and technology-forward mobility solutions throughout the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas Valley, and surrounding communities.
To support MST’s operational goals, Transdev will implement a suite of advanced technology and software tools to assist in optimizing scheduling, dispatching, and routing, boosting efficiency and improving service for MST’s paratransit riders. To enhance productivity and responsiveness, Transdev’s approach also includes partnering with a subcontractor for longer-distance trips, freeing up MST vehicles for shorter, higher-frequency routes with greater ridership.
