Transdev Renews Contract to Continue Operating Phoenix Transit West Facility

Transdev is excited to announce the renewal of its contract with the City of Phoenix to continue operating the Phoenix Transit West Facility. This new agreement, starting in July, includes a five-year base contract, reinforcing our strong and trusted partnership with the city.

Transdev has been a key part of the Phoenix transit network for over 50 years, providing safe, reliable, and sustainable mobility solutions. Since 2007, we have proudly managed the City’s West Transit Facility, and we are eager to continue our role in operating and maintaining the system.

Under this renewed contract, Transdev will oversee a fleet of 168 vehicles, including diesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), and hybrid electric buses, and additional electric vehicles in the near future. Additionally, our zero-emission fleet training programs will ensure operators are prepared for the next generation of transit technology.

Committed to Phoenix’s Transit and Economy

Beyond operations, Transdev plays an essential role in the Phoenix metro economy by employing more than 2,000 local team members and collaborating with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) partners to support regional economic growth. Our continued efforts in service excellence were recently recognized with the “Transportation Services Champion” award at the Phoenix Aviation Business Summit for our work at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Transdev also operates the City’s North and South Transit Facilities, as well as the Operations Control Center, making us a central part of the city’s transit infrastructure. With this contract for the West Facility covering 30% of Phoenix’s transit system and our vehicles traveling 6.5 million miles annually, we are committed to maintaining and improving service for residents and visitors alike.

We also recognize the importance of strong labor partnerships and are grateful for our collaboration with Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1433, which plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality service for the community.

Looking Ahead

With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and ridership growth, Transdev is dedicated to delivering best-in-class transit solutions. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the City of Phoenix and shaping the future of public transportation in the valley.
