Dick Alexander, Former U.S. CEO, announces his retirement from Transdev
Transdev announces the retirement of Dick Alexander, Special Advisor to Transdev Chairman & CEO Thierry Mallet, and former Transdev U.S. CEO, after 21 Years.
Dick has worked in the transit industry his entire career, having started as a transit planner in Cincinnati in 1976. He joined Transdev U.S. in 2000. Throughout his career, Dick navigated the mobility universe by developing new service offerings, business models and types of transportation services. In 2010, he led efforts to create the first U.S. delegated management model called Public Private Operating Partnerships (PPOPs). First implemented in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the model has since been successfully replicated in Sherman, Texas and Nassau County, New York. In recent years, he oversaw the company’s “new mobility” efforts, including autonomous vehicle and microtransit pilots with transit agencies, as well as integration of TNCs in paratransit contracts.
In 2020 he became interim CEO of Transdev U.S., successfully navigating the company through the early challenges of the pandemic. That same year he helped create and became first Chairperson of the North American Transit Alliance (NATA), an industry group representing the interests of private transit operators.
