Transdev awarded Community Transit (Dial-A-Ride) contract in Everett, WA

Transdev is proud to announce a new contract with Community Transit, based in Everett, Washington, to operate its Dial-a-Ride Transportation (DART) services. DART provides services to an average of 190,000 passengers annually, who are unable to use regular fixed-route bus service based on a disability or existing health condition.

Transdev signed a 5-year and 3-month contract and will be managing both the operations and maintenance aspects of DART’s paratransit services overseeing 90 employees and 52 vehicles.

“We are excited to be working with Community Transit to help them become an even more progressive service,” said Laura Hendricks, CEO, Transdev U.S. “We are looking forward to showcasing some advanced software, and implementing new technology that will allow DART passengers to book trips online or through an easy to use app,” continued Hendricks.

Transdev’s technology offer also provides riders with the option to receive SMS text message alerts that can remind them of their upcoming trip or notify them when their driver is approaching the pickup location. “The implementation of these technology solutions is all about enhancing the passenger experience – starting at our first interaction with the rider – which occurs even before they enter the vehicle. We are looking forward to introducing these innovations to Community Transit and their passengers,” added Hendricks.
