Katrina Heineking named to Transdev Executive Committee
Transdev has named Katrina Heineking, Chief Operating Officer for Transdev Alternative Services division, to its North American Executive Committee.
Heineking leads the Transdev Alternative Services (TAS) division, which provides operational services for Waymo’s self-driving vehicle development and testing efforts. Services include driver recruitment, training and retention, operations management and oversight in Waymo operations in Phoenix, the San Francisco Bay Area, and other locations. TAS supports Waymo to develop, refine and commercialize its self-driving technology platform, as well as achieve its safety and passenger experience goals.
Heineking also provides advice and counsel to Transdev’s transit contracts in the Phoenix area. She has been in the transit industry for more than two decades, a Transdev employee for 16 years, and brings a unique blend of operational and management experience.

Prior to her current position, Heineking served as Regional Vice President for Transdev, overseeing the Southwest region. She also served as General Manager for a number of large transit systems operated by Transdev, including Phoenix Transit with 850 employees and 350 buses, plus Sun Tran (Tucson) with a similarly large fleet of 365 vehicles. She also was General Manager of Transdev’s contract in Austin, Texas, and Assistant General Manager for the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS). She is a leader who builds productive, collaborative cultures with high standards for efficiency and teamwork.
Heineking has a long record of involvement in a variety of industry and community associations. Since 2008, she has been a board member of the Arizona Public Transit Association (AZTA) and served as its President. She also was a board member of the Southwest Transit Association (SWTA) and of the Friends of Transit Board of Phoenix. She has served on TCRP research panels and on committees and subcommittees for APTA and the Phoenix WTS Chapter and Chamber of Commerce.
Katrina holds a Bachelor of Administration in Business Management from Northwood University and has completed additional coursework in human resources management, federal procurement and grants management, labor negotiations skills, transit planning and public private partnerships.
