Transdev Earns Contract Renewal for BJC HealthCare

Transdev, the leading private sector provider of multi-modal mobility solutions, is pleased to announce it will continue operations of the employee shuttle for BJC HealthCare. The contract renewal will continue the company’s nearly two-decade-old relationship with one of the nation’s largest non-profit health care organizations serving the St. Louis, Southern Illinois and mid-Missouri regions.

The 7-route system serves the BJC HealthCare Medical Campus, composed of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital, doctor offices, clinics, schools and pharmacies. Both hospitals are affiliated with Washington University School of Medicine.

“Since September 1997, Transdev has been proud to operate the shuttle that transports employees, medical staff and students around this pillar of public health. We are honored to continue this relationship and look forward to rolling out new vehicles that are more efficient and enhance passenger comfort,” said Derrick Breun, Regional Vice President for the Southeast and Central Regions.

Transdev recently completed a transition of 50 percent of the fleet to new vehicles when increased demand fueled service expansion in 2014. As part of the new contract, the company will replace the remaining half of the 21-vehicle fleet with new vehicles. The network carries almost 28,000 employees at BJC HealthCare from various locations around the sprawling campus. Transdev is responsible for all costs associated with operations, including fuel, labor, vehicles and maintenance.
