Transdev U.S. Ramps Up Awareness Efforts for National Human Trafficking Awareness Month
Human trafficking, a grave violation of human rights, affects millions globally, often relying on transportation networks for exploitation and escape. As a leader in mobility services, Transdev recognizes its unique role in addressing this issue and remains dedicated to ensuring safety and security in the communities we serve.
During National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Transdev emphasized the importance of vigilance and education in combating human trafficking. Employees are trained to recognize indicators such as individuals without control of their ID, restricted mobility, signs of coercion, or visible fear and anxiety. They then review steps to take should they observe this suspected human trafficking activity. By sharing the National Human Trafficking Hotline (1-888-373-7888) with each employee, these small but critical observations can save lives.
Through ongoing educational opportunities such as a recent internal webinar with Kristen Joyner, Founder and President of KJ Backpack, LLC, partnerships with our clients, and access to resources, Transdev empowers its teams to remain aware and report potential trafficking situations while prioritizing safety. By staying informed and engaged, Transdev’s employees act as guardians of their communities, ensuring all modes of transportation are safe spaces for all.
With Joyner’s mantra, “Not my bus. Not my train. Not in my community,” Transdev reaffirms its commitment to remaining vigilant stewards of safety, both on and off the clock, and continuing to make a difference in the fight against human trafficking.
