WeRIDE, Maricopa County, Arizona
Service Provided: Microtransit

In November 2022, Transdev launched the WeRIDE microtransit service in Avondale, Arizona, to meet growing transportation demands and provide an on-demand mobility solution. Designed to complement existing fixed-route services, WeRIDE improved access for low-density areas and offered a seamless transportation option for riders in Avondale and neighboring Goodyear — two cities that previously relied heavily on personal vehicles. Microtransit was introduced to assess public transit adaptability and long-term mobility needs, resulting in increased trnaist access and community adoption, especially in underserved areas. Leveraging RideCo’s technology, WeRIDE integrates with Valley Metro fixed routes, expanding regional accessibility. Its success earned recognition as a 2023 Top 50 Smart City Award recipient, driven by consistent, reliable service that steadily increased ridership.

Building on this momentum, WeRIDE expanded to Goodyear, Surprise, and most recently, Peoria in 2025. This growth brings flexible and accessible mobility alternatives to suburban communities without fixed-route systems, effectively connecting these cities and enhancing regional mobility. By unifying services through RideCo’s technology, Transdev and WeRIDE demonstrate a commitment to scalable, efficient, and accessible transportation solutions.
