Transdev Increases Footprint in Canada with Acquisition of Voyago

Transdev is very pleased to announce its acquisition of Canadian company Voyago, a well-respected, family-owned and operated group of transportation companies, as of April 8, 2019. The newly combined Canadian company leverages the complementary business lines, geographic presence, operational capabilities, focus on safety and common values of each brand. Building on the expertise and talent of the two organizations, Transdev will expand the range of services and digital technology solutions it can offer to clients and passengers.

The combined company has 2,600 employees and 1,780 vehicles in operation, primarily in Quebec and Ontario, with aggressive plans to expand across Canada.

Transdev Canada has a broad portfolio of contracts in public transportation (90%), including urban and suburban bus, school transportation, and paratransit. They also operate Limocar—express bus service providing 300K passenger trips per year between Sherbrooke and downtown Montreal. Transdev will support the operation of the new extension of the light rail line in Edmonton, Canada, currently under construction and expected to open in 2021, building on Transdev’s position as a global leader in light rail.

Voyago has unique expertise in non-emergency patient transfer services (35% of its contracts) transporting stable patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, as well as the ambulatory. With a highly customized fleet, they transport people to and from hospitals, medical facilities, nursing, rehab and retirement homes . They have developed industry-leading best practices in patient care. The Voyago Health brand has been an innovative force in shaping a unique NEPT service model through advanced technology and data analytics. Voyago is also a leader and innovator in student transport (25% of its contracts) including both traditional and special needs services.
