Gerry Weber Appointed COO of Transdev’s VTMI Subsidiary

Transdev, the global leader in multi-modal mobility solutions, is pleased to announce that Gerry Weber has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer of VTMI, Transdev’s Railroad Infrastructure and Maintenance of Way subsidiary. He starts immediately.

Weber’s impressive background makes him an ideal choice for a position overseeing two major maintenance contracts in Los Angeles and Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. In addition to strengthening performance where needed, Gerry has been tasked with growing the business. Gerry has spent the entirety of his career in progressive roles with Canadian National Railway, most recently as Vice President of Supply/Fleet/Fuel Management where he was responsible for all maintenance service contracts and material supply for over $1 billion worth of annual maintenance of way (MOW) capital infrastructure projects.

“Gerry’s knowledge of the industry, combined with his passion for rail systems, will help VTMI establish itself as the clear leader in quality and efficient maintenance service,” said Mike Murray, President of Transdev’s B2G Division, which includes the company’s rail operations. “Passenger rail infrastructure is a critical element to mobility for millions of daily commuters and we are confident there will be many opportunities to expand on the excellent work we’ve already done. This is an exciting time for VTMI and I am excited to have someone with Gerry’s talent on board to help us safely and effectively deliver for our existing customers and grow VTMI’s footprint in the market so we can serve future customers as well.”

Since its founding, VTMI has constructed or maintains more than 6,000 miles of rail, most recently completing the Perris Valley extension for Metrolink in Los Angeles. During his previous employment with CN, one of the largest rail companies in North America with more than 20,000 employees, Weber served in a variety of roles such as Chief Mechanical Officer, Superintendent of Operations and in various engineering roles.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering degree from McGill University.
