Transdev is excited to celebrate the career milestones of our people. We shine a spotlight on John Smeeton, a long-time operator for TriMet’s LIFT location in Portland, Ohio.
John was moved to start his driving career in paratransit after seeing the service firsthand with his brother, who had heavily relied on the services for many years. His desire to give back to the paratransit industry threw him into his driving career, leading him to live his Purpose and passion for helping others. He connects with his riders, remembering their names by heart, and stays up-to-date with important moments in their lives.
A loyal member of his location’s Safety Solutions Team, John enjoys helping his community by joining outreach events that promote safety solutions his Safety Solutions Team brings. John is respected by his team and is well-known for his humility, helpful ideas, and creative ways to improve safety for his location. He also has a perfect driving record and focuses on keeping Safety First!
