Driving Progress Forward: Transdev Celebrates Juneteenth

Safety Corner

Transdev honors Juneteenth, an important moment in U.S. history celebrated on June 19 every year.  This day marks the day when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and free the last enslaved African Americans more than two years after the proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth, also called Freedom Day, recognizes a significant milestone in the nation’s history and offers an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of freedom and progress in the United States.

At Transdev, we recognize this day as a time to reflect on our nation’s progress, celebrate the contributions of Black Americans, and recommit to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong.

We encourage employees to take time to learn more about this moment in history, reflect, and engage in respectful conversations that help build understanding across our workplace.

Happy Juneteenth from Transdev!
