Transdev is proud to celebrate Black History Month by shining a spotlight on Transdev leaders who empower the freedom to move. We are shining a spotlight on Harrison Neilly, the General Manager of Transdev’s Bay Town Trolley contract. Harrison is known for his strong leadership, his kindness, and his deep commitment to serving the community.
His career in transportation began with an experience that stayed with him for many years. Early in his work, he drove passengers who needed the service to reach doctor appointments, get to their jobs, and manage everyday activities. Seeing how much these rides mattered helped Harrison understand that transportation isn’t just about getting from point A to point B; it’s a link that helps people stay connected to their lives and their communities. That moment shaped his path forward and has guided his career with a focus on purpose, compassion, and service.
Throughout his career, Harrison has relied on leadership skills shaped by his upbringing and life experiences. He believes in listening to others, staying calm during challenges, and giving people room to grow, even when they make mistakes. He treats everyone with dignity, no matter their background or status. He remembers that he has not always been in the position he is in today, and this helps him stay patient and respectful. These values guide the way he works with both employees and passengers.
In his current role, Harrison works hard to make sure the transportation system is fair and accessible to everyone. He ensures that passengers qualify for services the right way and that the system is protected from misuse. He believes that fairness and accountability are essential and that without clear rules, the system cannot support the people who need it most.
His leadership also shows in the way he treats his team. He arrives early each day and greets his employees with a smile. He checks in on their well‑being and celebrates their small successes. He pays close attention to the people he works with so he can help them grow in their careers. When possible, he likes to promote from within because he believes in giving people opportunities to succeed.
Like many leaders, Harrison has faced challenges, but he sees them as chances to grow. His faith helps him stay strong, and he believes he is always given the tools he needs to handle difficult situations. He also values the mentors and coworkers who have supported him throughout his career. Their guidance has been an important part of his journey.
Harrison offers honest advice to young Black professionals entering the transportation field by sharing with them the truth about the work and encourages them to reach out when they need help. He believes that when one person succeeds, the whole community becomes stronger. He hopes future leaders will remember that he showed up every day with confidence and treated everyone with respect.
For young professionals considering a career in transportation, Harrison’s message is simple: never forget that the job is about helping others. He encourages them to learn from their experiences, stay humble, and treat people the way they want to be treated.
Harrison Neilly’s dedication to service, fairness, and community displays the spirit of Transdev as we celebrate Black History Month!
