Transdev’s WeRIDE Microtransit Contract Receives Positive Reviews as it Celebrates its 1-Year Anniversary

Transdev’s WeRIDE Microtransit contract in Arizona was launched in November 2022 to address a transportation demand issue. As it celebrates its one-year anniversary, it’s clear the service has helped that important need.

Data from a Maricopa Association of Governments 2021 study looked at current transit services, population, employment conditions and projected future growth of the Avondale, AZ and Goodyear, AZ areas and found that a gap in mobility options existed.

Transdev’s WeRIDE Microtransit solution provides an on-demand Microtransit service that meets the needs of existing fixed route service customers in Avondale, AZ, helps improve service to low density areas and offers a mobility option for riders in Goodyear, AZ. Since its inception, the service has taken off and continues to grow.

The service in Avondale, Arizona was also recognized as a 2023 Top 50 Smart City Award recipient earlier this year.
