Adapting to Change #2: Did That Object Move?

This “Adapting to Change” sub-topic focuses on the importance of always being aware of the fixed objects around us. Many of our accidents are occurring as mirrors are getting clipped when trying to “squeeze by”. These types of accidents are 100% avoidable.

Some tips to consider:

avoid backing up if possible
never park within a few feet of a fixed object
perform a walk around your vehicle prior to getting in
use a spotter when maneuvering around fixed objects.

Next week’s “Adapting to Change” sub-theme will focus on bit more on the importance of using a spotter when backing.
