Memorial Day weekend is upon us. We remember and honor the brave heroes of our Armed Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We are truly saddened by the tragic events on Wednesday, May 26 at the rail yards operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). We send our heartfelt condolences to our partners at VTA during this difficult time.

Earth Day started soon April 22, 1970 and for 50+ years it has become an annual event to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Whether at home or at our sites, we can all play a part in helping our environment.

This week, our TAPS operation started providing free rides to people who wanted to get their Covid-19 vaccinations. Providing these free rides is just one more way we can give back to our passengers and our community and show we care.

Recently, Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) was proud to partner with the City of Lancaster, City of Palmdale, Antelope Valley Chevrolet, and T-Mobile for the area’s "Spring Food Distribution" event.

When we care about the communities we serve, great things can happen. Under a partnership between the city of Covina, Albertsons and our client Foothill Transit, Foothill Transit’s new transit center has been transformed into a vaccination center, serving those who are vaccine eligible in the local community.

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we chose to highlight Nuria Fernandez as our third and final exceptional women whose made (and continues to make) a contribution to the transportation industry.
