Our next Beat the Heat subtopic offers a reminder of things to keep in mind to prevent heat stress. It’s important to recognize the symptoms of heat stress and pace your work by taking adequate rest periods in the shade or cooler places. It’s also important to drink plenty of water and wear loose fitted clothing.

Our first “Beat the Heat” sub-topic to support our July / August Health & Safety theme highlights the importance of staying hydrated in the summer heat. Avoiding sugary beverages, minimizing caffeine, drinking water before/during/after exercise and increasing your water intake overall are just some tips to help you stay hydrated.
