Getting involved with our diverse transit industry organizations is an easy way to build strong community relationships and enhance our recruiting efforts.

We have corporate partnerships with several, diverse industry organizations and the easiest way to become involved is by joining a local chapter in your area. These organizations share a mission to increase diversity, equity and inclusion in all areas of the public transit industry and membership is open to anyone interested.

There is so much to gain from getting involved with any of these organizations. Among the many benefits are:

Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS)

WTS’ mission is to attract, sustain, connect, and advance the careers of women in the transportation industry. With 66 local and regional chapters, WTS is active in many of the areas where we operate, including New York, Atlanta, Baltimore, Phoenix, Portland, and all over California. Learn more here.

 

Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO)

COMTO is the leading national advocate for employment diversity, inclusion and contracting opportunities in the transportation industry. Their diversity initiatives represent their belief that leadership within the industry should reflect those they serve, including minority persons, veterans and persons with disabilities. Latinos in Transit (LIT)

LIT was formed in 2016 and is comprised of a volunteer group of both public and private transportation professionals from across the nation. Their goal is to drive the future of sustainable and equitable mobility, and create opportunities for education, mentoring and professional development. Learn more here.

 

American Public Transportation Association (APTA)

APTA is the largest and most well known transit industry organization and provides professional development, assists in drafting transit legislation, conducts industry research and advocates for public transportation funding. Members operate in every aspect of the industry and represent all modes of public transit. Learn more here.
