Our next “Beat the Heat” topic highlights a great tool from OSHA.
Their Heat Safety App allows those who work outside for extended periods of time to calculate the heat index for their worksite, and based on the heat index, it displays a risk level.
The OSHA Heat Safety Tool features:
- A visual indicator of the current heat index and associated risk levels specific to your current geographical location
- Precautionary recommendations specific to heat index-associated risk levels
- An interactive, hourly forecast of heat index values, risk level, and recommendations for planning outdoor work activities in advance
- Editable location, temperature, and humidity controls for calculation of variable conditions
- Signs and symptoms and first aid information for heat-related illnesses
The App is available on Google Play or the Apple store.
Health & Safety continues to be the top priority for our employees, passengers and the communities in which we operate – especially during these hot summer months. We hope these campaigns will help reinforce our H&S commitment with all employees.
