February has been designated as American Heart Month. The idea behind Heart Month is to motivate yourself, friends and family to adopt healthy lifestyles to help prevent heart disease.
Health & Safety continues to be the top priority for our employees, passengers and the communities in which we operate. As the new year kicks off, our commitment to highlight different Health & Safety themes every couple of months continues. We are excited to introduce that our theme for January and February is “Winter Preparedness”.
This month, we already have highlighted Movember’s first two areas of focus, prostate and testicular cancer, and today we continue with mental health. Trust your gut instincts. If you think something’s off, don’t be afraid to ask some questions. The right conversation can make all the difference to a man who might be struggling.
Our “Movember” campaign continues with important information on testicular cancer. Testicular cancer is another example of a cancer that can be effectively treated, and often cured, if diagnosed and treated early.
Regularly recognizing and celebrating our safety accomplishments is so important and a key element of our safety culture. Our GORaleigh operation in North Carolina recently celebrated key safety milestones achieved by four of their bus operators.
Did you know? Men die on average 6 years earlier than women. Men are also dying from largely preventable reasons. All men are at risk for prostate cancer and the risk increases with age. Early detection is the key.
Our commitment to highlight different Health & Safety themes every couple of months continues. As November kicks off, we are excited to introduce that our theme for November and December is “People Preparedness”.
In honor of Movember and as part of our commitment to the health & safety of our employees and communities, Transdev is helping raise awareness around prostate and testicular cancer and men’s mental health during November.
As our September / October “Stay Street Smart” campaign comes to an end, we want to conclude with a Stay Street Smart reminder focusing on Halloween. It’s important to be vigilant and not underestimate the importance of staying alert and aware around Halloween.
Thank you to all of you who participated in helping raise awareness for breast cancer throughout the month of October. Check out the photo album that was created as a result of the fantastic pictures that were sent in. What a great show of support for an important cause. Your efforts do make a difference.
