Our DEI commitment includes creating an environment where people from diverse backgrounds can communicate, work together and understand each other’s needs and perspectives. Throughout the second half of the year, we’d like to continue highlighting some of our employees who come from diverse backgrounds and/or who would like to share their thoughts on DEI or their DEI-related stories.

July 25 is National Hire a Veteran Day. Transdev is proud that many veterans have chosen our company for their second career. Many of the skills veterans acquired while in the military transfer nicely to our business – whether it’s a direct skills transfer (i.e. maintenance etc.) or the softer skills around leadership, teamwork, good communication, and pride in the work done – they all have a place at Transdev.

As June Pride Month comes to an end, we want to recognize and celebrate the contributions made to our society by LGBTQ+ trailblazers and their efforts to advance equity and equality. Check out the accompanying video.

Juneteenth celebrations have been happening across the United States for years. For those of you who may not be familiar with the origins of Juneteenth – the day represents the oldest known nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865.

Pride Month is celebrated annually in June in tribute to those involved in the Stonewall Riots of June 1969 and works to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) Americans. During the month, at Transdev we will be highlighting LGBTQ+ trailblazers who have forged their own path forward. In some cases, they have or are making an impact on transportation, but regardless they all stand for equity and equality.

Memorial Day is upon us. A time when we remember and honor the brave heroes of our armed forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
