Beat the Heat #3: Signs of Potential Heat-Related Illness

For Week 3 of our Beat the Heat summer theme, we are discussing signs and actions to take when dealing with heat-related illness. Serious symptoms include confusion, altered mental state, slurred speech, loss of consciousness, seizures and hot/dry skin. It’s important to call 911 when you suspect heat-related illness.

July 25 is National Hire a Veteran Day. Transdev is proud that many veterans have chosen our company for their second career. Many of the skills veterans acquired while in the military transfer nicely to our business – whether it’s a direct skills transfer (i.e. maintenance etc.) or the softer skills around leadership, teamwork, good communication, and pride in the work done – they all have a place at Transdev.

Beat the Heat #2: Preventing Heat Stress

Our next Beat the Heat subtopic offers a reminder of things to keep in mind to prevent heat stress. It’s important to recognize the symptoms of heat stress and pace your work by taking adequate rest periods in the shade or cooler places. It’s also important to drink plenty of water and wear loose fitted clothing.

We are proud to announce the expansion of our partnership with the Regional Transit District’s paratransit services in Denver, CO – specifically its Access-a-Ride Dedicated and Access-a-Ride Non-Dedicated paratransit services, effective July 1, 2023. Services we have operated since 2017.
