February is Heart Month: Tips to a Healthy Heart

February has been designated as American Heart Month. The idea behind Heart Month is to motivate yourself, friends and family to adopt healthy lifestyles to help prevent heart disease.

Focusing on your heart health has never been more important. It is the leading cause of death in the United States and people with poor cardiovascular health are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19.

Some easy tips that can lead to a healthier heart include:

Move more
Quit smoking
Limit alcohol
Manage your weight (limit your salt intake)
Watch your stress
