Halloween Safety Tip: Keep Your Focus as You Trick-or-Treat

Safety Corner

As Halloween approaches, it’s essential to stay vigilant—not only for your own safety but for the safety of everyone around you. Whether you’re out enjoying Halloween festivities, commuting, or just getting from point A to point B, keep in mind that safety is a shared responsibility.

For pedestrians, it’s especially crucial to stay focused on your surroundings. With the excitement of costumes, decorations, and festivities, it can be easy to get distracted but remember put the phone away—it can wait. Look out for moving vehicles and potential hazards around you. Keeping your eyes up and your mind on the path ahead can prevent accidents.

For drivers, remember that pedestrians, especially little trick-or-treaters, may be distracted or hard to see. Stay alert and slow down, especially in neighborhoods or areas where children are likely to be crossing the street unexpectedly.

This Halloween, let’s all do our part to make the streets a safer place for everyone. Happy Halloween, and stay safe!
