Safety Corner

The next “Safety Basics” subtopic highlights the importance of maintaining 3 points of contact. It’s a rule that’s as important for getting on and off a bus, as it is for climbing a ladder.

The 3-points of contact rule for bus drivers refers to the consistent use of two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand while entering and existing the vehicle. Additionally, it’s important to always face your vehicle as you enter and distribute your weight evenly among all 3 points of contact. Additionally avoid jumping from the vehicle since this can cause an unbalanced landing or a fall. Simple tips to lower your risk of a preventable injury.
