Safety Corner

“Increased Following Distance” is our next Winter Preparedness sub-topic.

There are only advantages to maintaining a safe following distance of 4 seconds or greater to the vehicle in front of you – especially is changing or hazardous winter driving conditions.

Whether it’s the ability to avoid hazards sooner, the creation of more space in case the driver in front stops suddenly or the ability to react better to unexpected road conditions related to changing weather – these are all positive reasons to consider increasing your following distance.
