Transdev’s Las Vegas Paratransit team has been named the winner of the 2025 Season of Service award. This award celebrates teams that build trust in the community, support employees, and make a positive local impact.
Following the start of the contract in early 2025, our client, Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada, and Transdev wanted to rebuild trust by focusing on being responsible, giving great service, and showing the community they were ready to listen and help.
Leaders also worked closely with employees by joining them in community events, which helped rebuild confidence and teamwork. Employees were encouraged to share ideas for outreach and new partnerships.
Las Vegas Paratransit Assistant General Manager Patricia Tezer said that many people want to help but are not always sure where to begin. When employees saw their ideas supported and when leaders showed up often, even with busy schedules, momentum grew. This shared focus helped create a culture where community work was valued and appreciated.
During Season of Service, the Las Vegas Paratransit team worked with nine local groups and completed about 112 hours of service. These groups included:
- Opportunity Village
- Caring Hands Adult Day Care Center
- American Cancer Society
- Southern Nevada Centers for Independent Living
- North Las Vegas Veteran Community Resource Center
- Three Square
- The Shade Tree
- The Blind Center
- Teamsters Local 631
The team helped with donation drives, awareness walks, education events, and community fairs. The team focused on education, awareness, and building strong relationships with riders and the community. Leadership events had about 20% leader participation, while larger employee‑led events brought in many more team members.
Recognition helped keep the motion going. Thank‑you posters from community partners now hang in break rooms, and a new pin reward system celebrates employees for safety, community outreach, and other efforts.
The success of this year’s Season of Service has inspired plans for even more outreach in 2026. Community work is now part of the Las Vegas Paratransit contract, and leaders plan to keep growing these efforts by starting small, listening, and staying open to new ideas.
Customer Service Manager Yili Affonso said, “No engagement is too small. Make the time, think outside the box, and grow from there.”
By showing up, supporting employees, and focusing on community needs, the Las Vegas Paratransit team truly lived the spirit of the Season of Service. Transdev congratulates the team for their outstanding work and thanks all of the locations and employees who took part in empowering our communities.
