Safety Tip- Always Know the Position of Your Vehicle

Safety Corner

As an operator, it is your responsibility to know where your vehicle is within its space when on the road. Keeping your vehicle centered in its lane reduces the chances of side-swipe collisions, pedestrian strikes, and off-track driving.

Keeping It Down the Middle

Centering your vehicle’s reference point helps operators keep the vehicle aligned with a fixed object to avoid collisions and move safely.  Establishing a reference point is different for every operator.

It is your responsibility as an operator to understand the differences in your vehicle’s size compared to your physical height to ensure proper seat adjustments.  Reference points once set for your vehicle will not change, unless the conditions change.

Understanding the exact placement of your vehicle is critical to keeping Safety First!
