Transdev is proud of Charlet Simmon, a Milwaukee streetcar operator in training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Charlet was honored for helping keep a passenger and her service dog safe. While at the Burns Commons stop while operating The Hop, Charlet saw two big dogs run toward a woman and her small service dog, Rudy. She quickly stepped in front of the dogs and told the woman, “You’re safe, I got you.” Her brave actions stopped the attack and kept them safe until the unleashed dogs were under control.
Later, the passenger, Janine Kent, called Charlet her “hero”. At a special event hosted by the city of Milwaukee, Charlet was praised for her bravery. Donations were also made in Charlet’s honor to two organizations: Wolfhounds Legacy, which trains service dogs for veterans, and Periodic Paralysis International, which helps people with muscle disorders.
Charlet showed the Transdev spirit of Care, Share, Dare, and Deliver in her actions, and kept Safety First! by ensuring that Janine and Rudy did not get hurt. We thank Charlet for being so brave and for serving the common good.
