Transdev is excited to celebrate Employee Appreciation Week by highlighting Wade Evans, Director of Safety and Training at Jefferson Parish Transit in Gretna, Louisiana.
Wade started out as a mechanic and worked his way up to Shop Foreman. In that role, he pushed for better safety training for his team. His passion for safety led him to become a full-time trainer, and his leadership earned him the Safety Manager of the Year award.
Now, as Director of Safety and Training, Wade uses storytelling to make safety training engaging and memorable. He believes “safety never ends” and enjoys helping employees grow through training. When welcoming new staff, he reminds them: “You’ll have good days and bad days. If it’s a bad day, let it go and come back tomorrow. We’ll work on it until it gets better. Don’t give up—it gets better.”
For Wade, a great day at work is when employees apply what they’ve learned. He says his team’s energy and positivity are what keep him going.
We are proud of employees like Wade who live their purpose and bring passion to their work, helping us deliver safe and reliable transportation for all.
Please join us in congratulating Wade Evans on 43 years of outstanding service!
