Transdev’s Employee Appreciation Week offers a chance to spotlight employees who have long careers with the company or at a contract location. Robert Noyes, Maintenance Manager at United Employee Shuttle location in Houston, Texas, is celebrating 35 years in maintenance. Beginning his career as an entry-level technician doing oil changes, his job grew into a lifelong career.
Robert shared his long-time love for maintenance, sharing that he took technician classes in high school and completed his technician program after graduation. He started his career in maintenance during his late teenage years while far from his hometown in Missouri. He decided to start his career in Texas after his dad told him to stay and build his future.
Over time, Robert’s hard work got his attention from his managers. His maintenance manager and mentor got promoted to a regional management role and offered him a chance to become a manager. Robert accepted the position from his mentor and served in management for over 12 years at that time.
Now a Maintenance Manager, Robert credits his desire to stay is due to the positive culture his location and our company provide, sharing that working with his team is like working with family, “We’re like a family and we have each other’s backs. We all know what we have to do and everyone pulls their weight with no problems”.
Robert enjoys the daily tasks his job brings, keeping his mind active with solving problems. He has built his understanding of maintenance over time and has solved a lot of problems. He also creates processes that help teams find and solve problems fast, based on past learning experiences he’s had.
Transdev celebrates Robert’s 35 years of service, and we are proud to have him as a part of our maintenance team!
