Safety Tip: Always Use Three Points of Contact

Safety Corner

As an operator of Transdev, your focus is keeping safety first.  Slips and falls are some of the most common causes of injuries for operators while getting in or out of your vehicle. Practice using is three points of contact every time you enter and exit your vehicle to prevent injuries.

Using three points of contact means always keeping two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand in contact with your vehicle when climbing in or out. This helps you maintain balance and reduces your chances of a slip or fall.

Use three points of contact:

  • Every time you enter or exit the driver’s seat
  • When inspecting your vehicle during pre and post trip checks
  • When stepping up or down from high places

Avoid jumping, skipping steps, or standing on unstable objects while working at Transdev.

Tips for Staying Safe

Take Your Time: rushing increases your chances of missing a step or losing your grip.

Use the Handrails: they are there for your safety.  Always grab hold when climbing in or out your vehicle.

Avoid Carrying Too Many Items: use a backpack or shoulder bag for your items to keep your hands free for using three points of contact at all times.

Remember, safety starts with you.  Always use three points of contact to avoid slips and falls.
