Staying Aware #5: Bloodborne Pathogens

Safety Corner

As we have all become more in-tune with key health & safety protocols as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s also important to be vigilant around potential bloodborne pathogens (BBPs).

Being aware of the appropriate precautions to take to protect yourself and understanding the steps necessary to address potential exposure can protect your health and safety. BBPs can be transmitted via open wounds or membranes in your eyes, nose or mouth. Wear gloves/masks as appropriate and wash your hands and the affected areas if exposed.
