Our drivers and mechanics already have lots to boast about considering the importance of their jobs and how, together, they provide people with the freedom to move safely and reliably. But now, two of our teams can boast about being the best of the best after winning their state sponsored Roadeo competitions.
Last week, Chris Daniels, our operator from our Rochester, MN operation (#55436), successfully defended his 2022 title and claimed his 2nd consecutive Roadeo championship at the Minnesota Public Transit Association’s 36th annual Bus Roadeo.
Since this year’s event was held in Rochester, Transdev was well represented with drivers and judges alike from our University of Minnesota, Springstreet, Fargo/Moorhead and Rochester locations.
Earlier this summer, our Fairfax Connector maintenance team took the first-place title in the Virginia State Bus Rodeo maintenance competition for the second consecutive year. (For background information, you can click here to reference last year’s story).
The maintenance teams compete to identify and diagnose a range of mechanical issues across multiple vehicle systems including engine, HVAC, brakes, electrical, bus defect inspection and a written test.
Our team competed against teams from Richmond, Lynchburg, Alexandria, and Hampton Roads. Now, they will represent the Commonwealth of Virginia at the next International Bus Rodeo. The winning team pictured to the left includes Martin Lopez, Mario Llanos and Oscar Matamoros, each with more than 20 years of service with the Fairfax Connector.
Congratulations to all the competitors and thank you to the volunteers who helped out. You represented Transdev well!
If your employees have participated in a recent competition, let us know – we would love to highlight them. You can reach out to joelle.rockwood@transdev.com.
