Beat the Heat #3: Signs of Potential Heat-Related Illness

Safety Corner

For Week 3 of our Beat the Heat summer theme, we are discussing signs to take note of when suspecting heat-related illness.

When you start feeling different or noticing changes like a rash, cramps or increased exhaustion, these could be signs of heat-related illness. More serious symptoms can include confusion, altered mental state, slurred speech, loss of consciousness, seizures and hot/dry skin.

Stay in tune with your body and move to a cool place and get hydrated if you notice any of these symptoms.

Note: It’s important to call 911 when you suspect heat-related illness.

Here are the related flyer and sensory tech slide for you to share at your locations.

Health & Safety continues to be the top priority for our employees, passengers and the communities in which we operate.  We hope these campaigns will help reinforce our H&S commitment with all employees.
