World Diabetes Day: November 14, 2022 – Know the Signs

November 14 is World Diabetes Day. The purpose of this one day is to raise awareness of a condition that millions of people all around the world live with every day.

Type 2 diabetes symptoms often take several years to develop. Some people don’t notice any symptoms at all. Type 2 diabetes usually starts when you’re an adult, though more and more children and teens are developing it. It’s important to know the risk factors for Type 2 diabetes.

If you have any of the following diabetes symptoms, talk to your doctor about potentially getting a blood test to test for diabetes.

  • urinate a lot, often at night
  • Are very thirsty
  • Have blurry vision
  • Have numb or tingling hands or feet
  • Are very hungry
  • Have very dry skin
  • Lose weight without trying
  • Feel very tired
  • Have sores that heal slowly
  • Have more infections than usual
