Giving Change Can Make a Huge Change: Living Our Purpose in Baltimore

Safety Corner

At Transdev, our Purpose is our underlying reason for existing. It’s what motivates us every day and serves as the compass for all our decisions. Our employees live this purpose every day through the way that we CARE, SHARE and DARE.

Our Baltimore operations recently provided us with a great example of how they are living our purpose to help the common good.

In August, they decided to declare “war” on each other – a “penny war” that is. Employees were divided into four teams and competed in a fundraising effort. Each team collected money and the winning team – the one who tallied the most points and raised the most money – chose a local charity to receive the funds raised. Points were allocated as follows: Pennies collected received positive points and silver/bills “donated” to the competition translated to negative points.

In all, $983.00 was collected, which was rounded up to $1000 donated to Blind Industries & Services of Marylanda 501 c(3) dedicated to providing career and training resources to blind residents of Maryland.

The effort was a great example of how our teams live our purpose, serve the common good and give back to the communities we serve. Thanks to Brianna Jackson, Baltimore’s Safety Manager, for leading this effort and to everyone who contributed!
