Today is Women’s Equality Day.
Did You Know? Women’s Equality Day is celebrated on August 26 and commemorates the 1920 adoption of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote.
In honor of the day, we want to highlight our Women’s Mentorship Program – Mentor@Transdev.
As most of you know, the program was developed by our Diversity & Inclusion Council, in partnership with our HR department and our colleagues at our Paris headquarters. The goal has been to create a mentorship program that will be meaningful and impactful for both the mentees and the mentors.
Our first-year pilot program has focused on the women of Transdev and how to offer them tools and resources they can use to grow professionally. We’re proud to empower our capable Transdev women as they develop their skills and expertise to advance their careers with us.
Here’s what one of our mentees has shared with us about the program to date:
“Being new to the Director of Operations role for IntelliRide has offered many new challenges (having difficult conversations with clients, as an example). Because of the Women’s Mentorship Program, I can reach out to my mentor (Bill Spraul) and bounce ideas off him on what has worked well for him. Bill has experience of working on both sides of the table (client/contractor) and can share insight into both, which is greatly beneficial.
Bill challenges me by not just providing answers of what he would do, but rather he asks questions to get me to come up with proposed solutions.
Participating in the Women’s Mentorship Program has allowed my confidence to grow in many ways. I have learned that even though I work in a predominantly male industry, I can add value to the organization and be successful. I have gained the confidence to speak up and voice my opinions/recommendations during staff meetings.”
– Stephanie Boschenreither, National Director of Operations, IntelliRide
