Our paratransit operations in Denver demonstrate how working together with the client in times of crisis can yield some rewarding results for the community.
Our GM for Denver’s Paratransit operation, Sarah Meredith, worked with our client, Denver RTD, to address the growing need that many of their regular paratransit customers were confined to their homes during the coronavirus outbreak with no way to get simple, yet essential things, like groceries.
“We decided it was important to adjust our business model and adapt to this ever-changing COVID-19 environment” explained Sarah Meredith. “Now, we are moving groceries instead of people, but helping our same passenger base. It couldn’t be more satisfying.”
Transdev and RTD are working with local grocery stores like King Soopers and Safeway to deliver much needed groceries right up to the customer’s front door.
All drivers are observing the strict CDC guidelines by wearing masks and gloves and thoroughly disinfecting their vehicles between each pickup and delivery.
“Through this partnership, we have been able to save some driver jobs that would have been in jeopardy based on the reduction of regular service, while finding a way to give back to our community during this time of need,” added Meredith. “I couldn’t be prouder of my team, our frontline heroes and the service we are providing.”
