Black History Month: Do You Know Its Origin?

Did you know the history of Black History Month dates back to the 1915? That’s when historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson and Jesse E. Moorland, a prominent minister at the time, founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH). Black History Month is held in February and is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history.

MLK Day: January 15, 2024

MLK day is observed each year on the third Monday in January, in honor of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s life and legacy.
