Staying Aware #4: Avoiding Distractions

Safety Corner

Since April is Distracted Driving Month, it is only appropriate that our next “Staying Aware” Health & Safety sub-topic addresses the importance of Avoiding Distractions.

It is a good opportunity to remind us to always stay focused and aware while driving and avoid distractions. It’s important to keep your eyes on the road, your hands on the wheel and your mind on the driving task at hand.

Distractions can include texting, taking phone calls, turning your head to speak to others, listening to loud music or doing other tasks (eating, reading, applying makeup etc.) while driving. When you change your focus – that’s when accidents can happen.
