Women’s History Month: Thoughts from Tori Scheuerman

Safety Corner

As part of our celebration of Women’s History Month, we are continuing to highlight some inspiring words from some Transdev women in the field. Read on to discover what Tori Scheuerman, our Regional IT Manager, had to say.

“Women’s History Month represents a time to look back on how far women have come.  I love to look back and remember the women from our past, present and those in our future that will continue to make changes for generations. I believe I am making a difference in the Information and Technology field by showing that anyone can have any career they choose if they work hard.

I must admit working in a non-traditional role can be challenging at times, but for the most part I feel I am treated equally and respected in my field. I try my best to work as hard as possible and just think of my role as the job that I love and want to succeed in.”

“There is great opportunity for growth in the transit industry. There is so much that happens in the transit industry that you will constantly be learning. Like everywhere, you need to work hard in any position, and if your mind is set is to succeed, then you will.”

Do you have a woman role model that has inspired you?

“My inspiration came from my mom. She was always telling me to work hard, and I could achieve whatever I wanted. I believe she was a bit harder on me than my other siblings because I was a woman, and she knew the extra guidance would pay off.”

Transdev is proud that many veterans have chosen our company for their second career. Many of the skills veterans acquired while in the military transfer nicely to our business – whether it’s a direct skills transfer (i.e. maintenance etc.) or the softer skills around leadership, teamwork, good communication, and pride in the work done – they all have a place at Transdev.
