Transdev promotes Julie Peel to Vice President of Safety and Security

Transdev recently announced the promotion of long-time transit professional Julie Peel to Vice President of Safety and Security.

Julie joined Transdev in August 2015, as Safety and Training Director for the paratransit contract with WMATA in greater Washington, D.C. From there, she was promoted in early 2018 to Regional Safety Director, Northeast region.

“Julie has distinguished herself with strong credentials and many accomplishments in multiple domains of safety performance, including stronger root cause analysis, accident mitigation plans, and developing standardized protocols and processes,” said Francois Regembal, Chief Safety & Quality Officer. “She is passionate about ensuring the quality of ongoing safety coaching and training, partnering with many of our locations to mobilize our teams and deepen the commitment and personal accountability for safety,” continued Regembal.

She has been instrumental in creating and communicating policies and best practices to help Transdev locations take effective action to protect employees and passengers from COVID-19.

Julie joined the transit industry in 2012 and worked for a competitor in the greater Washington, D.C. area for three years prior to joining Transdev. She has a degree in Justice Studies from Georgia Southern University, and also holds many industry certifications. Just a few include becoming a CTAA Certified Safety and Security Officer, obtaining a General Industry Certification from OSHA, plus a certification as a Classroom/BTW Instructor from the U.S. DOT Transit Safety Institute, and certification as a Master Instructor at Transdev.
