Transdev awarded Operations & Maintenance contract in New Orleans
Transdev Services Inc. today announced the signing of a contract with the Regional Transit Authority of New Orleans to manage service operations and fleet maintenance for three years, with two additional one-year renewal options. The annual value of the contract is over $85 million. Transdev has operated and managed bus, streetcar, paratransit, and ferry services under contract to the RTA Board of Commissioners since 2009.
In addition to helping the RTA rebuild its transit system from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina over the past 10 years, Transdev has helped the RTA nearly double service levels while significantly decreasing system-wide operating costs. Transdev also helped create and launch a mobile ticketing app with real-time arrival information for RTA riders.
