We take recruiting very seriously. We make most selections of personnel locally, but our corporate recruiting director has developed many initiatives to support our local teams. For example, we have developed beneficial national contracts with the best Internet job-finding sites. We have developed standardized screening templates for many positions with well-designed interview questions, as well as performance criteria for all our jobs, ensuring that our standards are shared across the company. To support our locations in their recruiting efforts, we also have standardized artwork and print copy for newspaper ads, secured beneficial pricing for temporary workers, standards for job fairs and employee referral programs, and much more.

Our local teams have developed a great deal of sophistication in recruiting for operators, maintenance staff and many of our operating positions. In addition, we often transfer people with particular competencies from one part of the country to another, to provide them with greater career opportunities and to support client needs. Finally, we conduct drug and background checks on all employees in safety-sensitive positions.
