Transdev Wins Contract Renewal for Foothill Transit

Transdev will continue working to optimize the passenger experience for millions of Foothill Transit passengers with a four-year contract renewal with four additional option years.

Transdev provides service operations and vehicle maintenance for approximately 50 percent of the Foothill Transit system, which operates 40 fixed, express, and rapid transit routes that move passengers within the San Gabriel and Pomona valleys as well as express service to Pasadena and Downtown Los Angeles. In June 2016, Transdev will also assume operational responsibility for routes 190, 194 and 270 formerly operated by LAMTA that traverse Pomona Valley. The entire system transports annual ridership of 14 million customers.

Recently, Transdev introduced a new bus operations center that enables more active management of drivers. The company has continued to find new innovations in enhancing the customer experience through improved customer feedback management, additional social media engagement and new dispatching tools.

“Transdev is a global leader in providing innovative solutions for public transportation. We are proud to support the ambitious plans of Foothill Transit in our very productive partnership,” said Duane Eskierka, Senior Vice President of Transit Operations for Transdev. “The commuting solutions that we provide for Foothill Transit are a crucial element of mobility for Southern California and we are constantly searching for opportunities to upgrade the passenger experience in all aspects.”
Transdev is excited to continue maintaining and operating Foothill Transit’s complex fleet that will include 13 new 40-foot electric buses that will be delivered in 2017. The new arrivals to the fleet will provide exceptional service while minimizing the environmental impact of public transportation. Foothill Transit has pledged to move to an all-electric fleet of buses by 2030.
