Cincinnati is Making History
The Cincinnati streetcar system is now open for business! The streetcar runs a 3.6-mile loop through downtown, connecting multiple communities and neighborhoods to the city’s urban core.
Anthony Foxx, U.S. Transportation Secretary said at the grand opening on September 9th, “Cincinnati's streetcar will attract new businesses and investment along the route and transform the neighborhoods surrounding the project - as other streetcars have in cities all over the United States.”
We’re proud to be the operator and partner in launching the new Cincinnati Bell Connector service in Cincinnati. In leading cities all over the world, including Cincinnati, New Orleans, Detroit, Barcelona, Dublin, Hong Kong and Sydney, Transdev is the chosen partner to operate light rail and streetcar systems that have helped reshape communities through improved economic development and urban mobility.
Transdev is also the leading operator of streetcar systems in the United States, reinforcing our expertise at operating rail networks in 11 countries on four continents.
With the opening of the new Cincinnati streetcar, Transdev proudly operates the newest and oldest streetcar (New Orleans) systems in the world. The new option for mobility in downtown Cincinnati through the Over-the-Rhine district will spur continued economic development while reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
As operations progress in Cincinnati, we look forward to sharing the stories of success that this new form of mobility will provide. The new network features five streetcars on a 3.6-mile loop serving 18 stations.
